Grading

Students will be evaluated based upon class assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, attendance, classroom participation, and homework.  Homework will be due on Friday.  Point values for assignments, notebook entries, projects, quizzes, and tests will vary.

Students will be expected to increase the amount they read.  Each quarter, a portion of their reading grade will be based on their book reports.  Students are expected to read outside of class for their book reports.

Homework & Class Assignments
For homework, students will be expected to complete a variety of homework assignments including math, spelling/vocabulary, reading and writing. Students should bring homework and other school correspondence back and forth in a designated Collier folder.  If a student is absent, they will be allowed to submit work up to 2 days late.

Projects

Projects may include computer and/or research projects, and class presentations.  In their notebook and/or folder, students should keep instructions, assignments, and class notes.

Tests & Quizzes
Quizzes will be given frequently so that the teacher may evaluate the specific skills of students and target instruction accordingly.  Tests will be given at regular intervals.  It is important that all students master the concepts and skills taught in the class.
